William Cornwell Obituary A beautiful soul who was loved by all and is gone too soon. William Terrel Cornwell, 68 of Shaker Heights passed away peacefully on January 2. He was the eldest son born to the late John H. and Willa M. Cornwell on January 5, 1950. Bill graduated from Hubbard High School in 1967 and continued his education at the Case Institute of Technology (Case Western Reserve University) where he majored in Mathematics. His professional career spanned nearly 30 years with employers like The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and Honeywell Inc. (Xerox Corporation). He spent the majority of his career with Ford Aerospace/Loral Space & Communications Ltd. With this company, he served in many exciting computer related roles traveling outside of the country to places like Hon Kong/Asia and living in places like Chicago, Reston, San Jose and the LA area. His interests were varied from his love of the arts to his passion for Fantasy and Sci-Fi movies. He enjoyed collecting prints, loved playing the violin and classical music. Terry played computer games way before they were popular spending countless hours playing Dungeons & Dragons. He was a whiz when it came to facts about everything. Being extremely quick witted, he never missed an opportunity to make you think about what you just said. Throughout his life, Bill was an avid bridge player having earned over 3000 points. He could be seen playing bridge on any day that ended in a “y”. He was nationally ranked through the American Contract Bridge league and was the chosen and favorite partner of many. Terry was devoted to his family. He was a magnificent son, brother and uncle. He was a true friend to those that had the privilege of knowing him. His life will continue to be cherished by his five siblings: John H. (Charlene) Cornwell of Huron, OH, Denise A. Cornwell of Sandusky, OH, Bridgitte K. Cornwell of Toledo, OH, Kimberli L. (Gregory) Jackson of Canal Fulton, OH and Karen M. Cornwell of Toledo, OH; nieces, Deona Powell, Rashona Slaughter, Tiffany Cornwell, Brittany Cornwell, Kristina Jackson; nephew, Kregg Jackson; devoted cousin, Juanita Peace; life-long friend, Susan Stark; favorite bridge partner, Lynn Rafferty; great nieces, great nephews, cousins along with a host of other family, friends and Bridge players around the world.
