Valeria Ruffin Obituary Valeria Lula Huff was born on September 21, 1929, from the union of John Clifton and Cornealina Huey-Huff, in the city of Whipple, West Virginia. After graduating Valedictorian from high school, she moved to Ohio to seek gainful employment. She met Jerry Miles Ruffin and within a year they were joined in marriage in 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. From their union was born Jerry Jr. (oldest), Roland, Iris, and Sandra Ruffin respectively. Valeria worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital until her retirement. She became a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle United Holiness Church, Cleveland, Ohio in 1960 and remained a faithful member until her home going. She loved to sing and play piano for the choir in addition to traveling and performing with her family group called the ‘Sensational Ruffin Singers.’ Valeria received her Ministry License under Pastor H.O. Latta of Pentecostal Tabernacle and was ministerially confirmed through the United Holiness Association. Valeria was graced with many opportunities to minister the gospel of Christ to young and old while attending Pentecostal Tabernacle. Valeria’s favorite songs were, There’s a Brighter Day Somewhere, I Got a Mind to Hold Out to the End, and Wonderful (by Sam Cook), Valeria loved celebrating holidays and family entertainment with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Valeria departed this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 2:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Miles Ruffin in 1988, and her oldest son, Jerry Ruffin, Jr. in 2010 She leaves to cherish her memory, her last surviving son and second oldest - Roland Ruffin; (daughter-in-law, M. Pennie Ruffin); third born - Iris Ruffin-Thomas, and youngest daughter -Sandra Ruffin-Powell (son-in-law, Dee Powell); Grandchildren; Leshanea Ruffin, Dr. Lanique Ruffin, Adrienne Ruffin, Terrell Thomas, Tawana Thomas, Gerrad Powell, and Bianca Powell, Her last surviving sister, Doris Revels of West Virginia, as well as a host of Great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and church family members. Valeria Ruffin will always be remembered as a godly Woman, Minister, Musician, and committed Mother; who loved God from childhood. Valeria was a Messenger of God, who always released deposits of Kindness in the hearts of Everyone who was Divinely assigned to her, and her to them.
