Thelma M. Frazier

Thelma Frazier Obituary Thelma M. Frazier was born on July 29, 1939 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Thelma was one of eleven children born to Robert B. and Olivet Starks (both preceded her in death). One sibling, Helen Starks preceded her in death. Thelma was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, graduating from John Hay High School. She met and married Wayman Frazier and from this union two children were born. Son, David Frazier and daughter, Eleanor Frazier (preceded her in death). She worked at the VA Hospital as an Administrative Assistant. It was Thelma’s nature to help people, she went back to school and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Ursuline College. She spent the later part of her career as a Registered Nurse. She retired from the VA Hospital. Having more to give, Thelma worked for the Metropolitan Hospital for approximately 10 years and retired at the age of 70. Being a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Thelma was an active member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church which later became Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She worked tirelessly with the Feed the Hungry Ministry and she was part of the Grief and loss Ministry wand learned how to make quilts as part of the therapy process. Thelma was part of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Some of Thelma’s favorite things to do were traveling, going to plays, and working on jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grans. Thelma leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Wayman Frazier, son, David Frazier, sister-in-law Stella Frazier. Eight grandchildren; Angie Frazier, David Frazier, Jr., Daniel Frazier, Devin Frazier, Kyra Frazier, Michelle D. Frazier-Kennedy (Kevin), Jade B. Smith, and Jarod T. Smith; and fourteen great grandchildren. She also leaves nine siblings, Jennie L. Walker, Robert B. Starks, Jr., Charles Starks, Alzay Yarbrough, Steve Starks, Felix Starks Chester Starks (Janice), Maurice Starks, Kathy Starks and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a very loving church family.
