Rose Williams Obituary Rose Etta Williams passed away at the age of 86 on August 11, 2020. She leaves to mourn her passing three children, Crystal Clark, Cheryl Bryant, and Charles III (Lora) Williams; two brothers, Arthur (Eunice) Howell and Lee Howell; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends. The Memorial service is Saturday August 29th at 11:00 am at E. F. Boyd & Son, Inc. 25900 Emery Road. There will also be a virtual service at the same time. Donations can be made in memory of Rose Etta Williams to Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/cleveland On May 3,1934 the world, or at least John Benson and Mildred Geraldine Howell, were blessed with the birth of their third child, daughter Rose Etta. Named after her paternal grandmother, Rosetta Howell. Her father nicknamed her Honey Drop, very endearing and sweet. She grew up in a home with 4 brothers and two sisters, which made being on time for church a weekly challenge! Mom, as we know her, could never carry a tune, but she always reminded all who would listen (again and again) that she was a faithful member of the church choir from an early age. We decided mom was the reason they came up with the phrase, “the Lord doesn’t care how you sound, just make a joyful noise unto the Lord”. Upon graduating from East High School on June 19, 1953, she received an Associate Degree in Dietary Management. She wore her title like a badge of honor! With degree in hand, she traveled the U.S. working as a Dietary Executive in Cleveland, OH, Los Angeles, California, and Orlando, Florida. One would say, she got around, but in a good way. Upon retiring she took on the dangerous job as a Daycare Assistant, Sunday school teacher, and a warrior for the Lord! You did not want to get into a biblical debate with this church Lady! Rose traveled the world but the trip she loved the most was to Kenya. Unbeknownst to most, she enjoyed Star Trek, scary movies and writing stories. Rose met Charles Jr. in 1950, they fell in love and married July 17, 1956. From this union, they have 3 children; Crystal, Cheryl, Charles III. In a quiet manner, almost imperceptibly, Rose went home to her heavenly father on August 11, 2020. She leaves her legacy of love to her children, Crystal Clark of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Cheryl Bryant of University Heights, Ohio and Charles (Lora) Williams III of Roswell, Georgia; her grandchildren, Ayanna Clark, Bryan Clark, Brandon Clark, Colby Rose Bryant, Gregory Charles Bryant, Whitney Williams, and McKenzie Williams; great granddaughter; Blair Clark. Her brothers, Arthur (Eunice) Howell and Lee Howell and a multitude of relatives and friends. Those family members who preceded Rose in death are her parents, John and Mildred Howell, and siblings, Phyllis Senegal, John Howell Jr, Sandra Howell, and Herbert Howell.
