Peter Brown Obituary Peter Lee Brown, a devoted father, companion, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coach, passed away on August 25, 2024, at age 47, in Twinsburg, Ohio. Peter moved to Twinsburg in 2020 and established his home in a strong, close-knit community to love and care for what mattered most: his beloved Mayelin and their precious children, Noah and Niah, and stepchild, Allison, also known as "Jayme." He nurtured and raised his children with solid values of faith in Jesus Christ, excellence, compassion, and respect for all people. Through hard work and sacrifice, Peter sought every opportunity for his children to see the world and taught them to love everyone as he did. He was determined to be the best father and dad since he grew up without his father. Born in the Bronx, New York, Peter was the youngest child of Robert L. Brown and Jacqueline A. Brown. His early life was marked by adversity, including the loss of his father at a young age. Despite these challenges, Peter’s mother moved him and his siblings to a small rural town in the Hudson Valley region of New York, which only fueled his determination to succeed. He joined the Boy Scouts, excelled in sports, music, and community service, and was an active member of his local church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stormville, New York. Peter graduated from the New York Military Academy, where he completed JROTC, and attended Marist College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. He later earned an Executive Master of Business Administration and General Management from Fordham University Gabelli School of Business while working full-time and raising his family. Peter was also an executive scholar and alumnus of The Marketing Academy US. In addition, he was incredibly proud to be a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. His career reflected his strong work ethic, intelligence, ambition, and excellence. From advertising agencies to global communications firms, Peter carved out a niche as a successful senior marketing executive, where his innovative ideas and leadership shaped the brands of numerous Fortune 500 corporations. Through a story-telling lens for diversity and inclusion, he was most proud to work with the United States Marines and Nestlé to reach diverse, multicultural markets worldwide. Peter won 11 distinguished advertising awards in 10 years, including 1 Gold Effie, 1 AAF Mosaic, 1 ARF David Ogilvy, 5 ANA Multicultural Excellence Awards, and 3 Addy Awards. Peter's faith in God was his anchor, and he boldly and fearlessly lived it out in every aspect of his life. With early exposure to and interest in other cultures, Peter loved adventure and traveling the world, and he enjoyed doing so with his family and friends. Anyone who knew Peter knew how much he loved music. As a hip-hop aficionado and pop culture guru, Peter would welcome opportunities to DJ on the ones and twos in his free time. He was a devoted son to his mother, faithful brother, and best friend to his two siblings, Barbarella and Randy, who held a special place in his heart. Their unbreakable bond was one of mutual support and love. His nieces Julissa and Jianna, who adored their "Uncle Pete," will forever remember his playful spirit, how he made them feel loved, and how he helped them achieve their aspirations. Peter also shared strong bonds of respect and loyalty with his extended family, friends, neighbors, fraternity brothers and sisters, near and far. Peter believed in giving back to benefit the community and inspired youth through his active involvement as a children's soccer and basketball coach. He also served on the Twinsburg Architectural Review Board. Peter used the time and talents God gave him wisely to serve others and make a difference. His faith and community involvement were not just a part of his life but a testament to his character, and they will be remembered by all who knew him. Peter was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Brown, whose memory he carried daily. He is survived by Mayelin Tavarez, the mother of his children, Noah Brown and Niah Brown, and stepchild Allison "Jayme" Peguero; mother, Jacqueline A. Brown; siblings Barbarella A. Brown and Randy L. Brown; nieces Julissa and Jianna Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. A man who lived out his promise passionately, Peter leaves a rich legacy of love, faith, leadership, and service for his family, friends, and community.
