Maude Johnson Obituary Maude Johnson entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Maude was born to the late Mort and Gandora Roundtree (both deceased) on September 16, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the only child. She accepted Christ at an early age. Maude joined the St. Lukes F.S.M. Church under the leadership of the late Samuel Jenkins. On July 31, 2011, Maude became a partner of The Word of Faith Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor K. Selessie Simmons.Maude married Wilbert Johnson on September 26, 1962 and to this union five children were born: Wilbert Johnson Jr., Gandora, Matthew, Dianna and Adam Troy. Two sons preceded her in death, Lamont and Charles Harris.Maude graduated from Central High School and she attended various classes at Michigan State. She was an employee of N.C.A Neighborhood Centers Association Child Development for 28 years before retiring to care for her sick husband. She received several awards for grateful appreciations for 25 years of service to the community action effort in 1991.Mama Maude loved to read, play board games, shop and dine. She often baked cakes and pies for the family gatherings. She enjoyed her family and she also spoiled her grandchildren. She always had a word of wisdom to share with everyone. Maude loved working with children.She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Gandora Johnson, Dianna Johnson Mango (Reynolds Sr.); three sons: Wilbert Johnson Jr., Matthew G. Johnson Sr. (Janice) and Adam Troy Johnson (Maxine); stepmother, Dorcus Roundtree; one sister-in-law, Effie Mae Simmons; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
