Louis King Obituary Louis King was born on April 15, 1936 to the late Fred King and Carrie Little, he had 11 siblings: Maggie Lee Ricks, Matilda Clay, Lucille Abernathy, Edna Lee Jackson, Emma Jean Morris, Minnie Pearl King, Fred king, Jr. , Percy Lee King, Curtis king, and Charlie B. King, all preceded him in death. His remaining brother, Earl King (Carolyn) lives in Red Bank, Alabama. Louis attended Mount Miles Baptist Church in Leighton, Alabama and received Christ at an early age. Louis and Samella Mitchell ( deceased) wed on October 17, 1953, their union produced ( 4) children, Curtis King of Town Creek, AL, Michael King ( deceased), Debra Smith of Decatur, Al, and Annette Ricks( Ronnie) of Muscle Shoals, Al. Louis worked at Reynolds Metal Company in Muscle Shoals, Alabama as a laborer until he moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1964.Louis was working as a porter at the Jewish Orthodox Nursing Home in Cleveland, Ohio where he met Katie Ree Johnson who would become his second wife. Louis and Katie married on April 13th, 1966, their union produced two children Louis King, Jr. ( Alicia) residing in Hampton, Georgia and Lorita King of Cleveland, Ohio as well as two step daughters; Cassandra Lynn Johnson and Barbara Johnson both residing in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.Louis was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding motorcycles and repairing cars. He enjoyed listening to blues and gospel music and his favorite artists were BB King, Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, the Dixie Hummingbirds and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.Mr. King, as referred to by the neighborhood children often took groups of them fishing and to the local and city parks. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch cracking jokes with them and telling stories.In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memories.
