Leon Thornton Obituary A TIME TO BE BORN: Leon Thornton was born October 11, 1940 in Wilmot Arkansas to the late William and Beretha Thornton. He was the fourth out of nine children born to this union. He graduated from Wilmot city schools. Leon was proceeded in death by his parents William and Beretha Thornton, Son Kenneth Davis Thornton, Sister Alberta and three brothers Jonnylee, Clarence and Lonnie. On September 27, 1969 Leon married the love of his life his loving wife of 54 yrs. Patricia where 2 children were born to this union Stephanie and Kellie. In 1984 Leon graduated from Drett University where he obtained his certification to be a licensed Security Guard. Shortly thereafter he was employed at Judson Retirement Home for many years where he later retired. Leon lived his life but most of all he loved his family. He wasn’t a social butterfly but when it came to FAMILY especially his grandkids that was the highlight of his life. He enjoyed cooking and eating soul food, listening to blues and having a cocktail or two. In the early 90’s Leon accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor A.F.Cavor at Harvest Missionary Baptist Church. After he retired his health started to decline until his passing. A TIME TO DIE: On February 17,2023 @ 4:50 AM Leon was called from Labor to Reward to be with the lord after a long battle of illnesses. He was a true solider and fought a good fight till the very end. A TIME TO MOURN: He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his loving wife Patricia, 5 children: Rodney Sr. (Patricia), Peter, Patricia, Stephanie (Desebee), Kellie, Dawn Michelle and his Nephew/Son Kevin Thompson. 6 Grandchildren: Terashay, Tisha. Rodney Jr. (Shea), Raymond, Bryon and Isaiah Sr. 7 Great grand Children: Devon, Christian, Rodney III, Amora, Jeramiah, Julian and Isaiah Jr. Siblings: Eliza McCoy, Brothers: Lorenzo, Robert, and Limmie (Sheila) and special niece Julia Thorpe, Brother in law Ronald Thompson, Sister n law Darlene Morgan (Lenny) and a host of Relatives and friends.
