Mrs. Geraldine Finney Obituary Mrs. Geraldine Finney was born on April 20, 1935 to Douglas and Christine Jackson in La Belle Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of the Jackson children. Her siblings Holland Jackson and Catherine Jackson preceded her to eternal rest. Geraldine graduated high school in Brownsville Pennsylvania after which she moved to Cleveland Ohio. She obtained degrees in Communications and Cosmetology. She was a model for Beatrice Academy and a hair stylist. Her career changed several times, she eventually retired from Tremco Inc. as a Purchasing Agent in the Late 1980’s. A young Geraldine “Geri” Jackson came to Christ at an early age. She attended The Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor William in La Belle Pennsylvania. After moving to Cleveland Geraldine joined Temple Baptist. Later she joined New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended for fifteen years under the guidance of Dr. Carey McCreary. Geraldine introduced her children to the ways and teachings of Jesus Christ during this time. She also sang in the choir and served on the Usher Board. Later in life Geraldine would follow her children to Faith Temple Church, where she fellowshipped for more than 20 years under the leadership of Bishop John W. Thompson Jr. She served on the Missionary Board and the Mother’s Board. Mother Finney’s final church home was at Vineyard Center Ministries, where her Christian journey continued under the direction of Bishop Thad D. Franklin. Geraldine was married several times. She met and married James R. Hall (deceased) when she moved to Cleveland Ohio. As her life moved forward she then met and married Moses Finney who preceded her to eternal rest. Geraldine loved her family, she was blessed with; four children: Douglas (deceased), Cheryl (Alonzo-deceased), Gregory and Marlene (Rollie) eight grandchildren: Monica, Leslita (John), Kelli (Stencil), Jason, Lydia, Gregory Jr., Judy (Brandon) and Renell, fifteen great-grandchildren: Alfred, MonicaMonet, Mysun, Mia, Amor, Amere, Jada, Mikeyla, Jaden, Alayna, Major, Niya, Lanea, Zahir, Zhane and Bailey, one great-great grandchild Noah, brother Holland (deceased)(Emma), sister Catherine (deceased) and brother in law Lewis Finney. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends and Godchildren Deonna and Tariq. She adored her special friends Lewis Murphy, Monroe Goins, Rita Henderson, Margaret Bryant and her special granddaughters Monica Franklin and Mikeyla.
