Frank Sullins Jr. Obituary He was a natural leader and a compassionate, devoted man to whom many of us looked for advice and guidance. He was also a family man who served as an inspiration and vigilant mentor to his children. He was quick-witted, humorous and would always leave you with a smile and hearty laugh, even when delivering stern advice and direction. Furthermore, he was a spiritual man and devoted servant. FRANK ROBERT SULLINS was born January 14, 1936 in a small town in Tuskegee, Alabama as the first son to Frank Sullins and Beulah Mae Humphrey (nee Blackmon) both deceased. As a young child, Frank accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Tuskegee. He graduated from Macon County Training School in 1954. Frank was an ambitious man, he knew he had to leave home to seek better opportunities. After graduating high school, on July 14, 1954 he relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. There he met and married the late Loretta D. Sullins (nee Wilson). They were married 11 years and had three children (Tahnya Ann, Darrell and Yolanda). After this union he met Sharyn Sullins (nee House) and together they had two children (Lolita Michelle and Francine Lorene). Frank was affectionately known as “Bubba” to his family. His close friends called him “Peanut” because he loved roasting and snacking on them. In the late 70s, one of his all-time favorite hobbies was talking on his CB radio using the handle “Walking Tall”. He loved road trips, especially taking annual trips back home to Tuskegee to visit family. He would enthusiastically share the city’s history and stories of his life there with his children. Visiting Niagara Falls was another favorite place he would frequent with friends and family. Frank was very skilled and worked various jobs prior to landing his position with the City of Cleveland. He began his employment in the City’s Police Tow Division, then later transferred to the City’s Streets Division. In 2005, he retired from the City after 30 years of service and spent his time enjoying family and friends, fishing, cooking/barbecuing, and serving as the family’s go to person for any repairs (car, home, you name it he was a jack of all trades). Frank departed this life July 13, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He will truly be missed. Frank is survived by his five children: Tahnya A. Brown, Darrell (Karen) Sullins, Yolanda Sullins, Lolita M. Sullins and Francine L. Sullins; 12 grandchildren, Robin Palmer, Danielle Reynolds, Leotis Henry, Jonathan Tolbert, Demonte Crawley, Tamika Brown, Jocelyn Means, Briea Bryant, Torrie Sullins, Shytia Sullins, Darrell (Ayla) Sullins ll, Yonnie Williams; and 11 great grandchildren, Emani Walker, Laniya Henry, Justice Henry, Alayah Talley, Phoenix Jones, Chloe Henderson, Darrell Sullins lll, Maya White, Isabella White, Hayden Palmer, and Lauren Palmer. He is also survived by his sister Beulah (David, deceased) Menefee and brother Winston (Cynthia) Davis, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sullins and Beulah Mae Humphrey; and the following siblings Trina Davis, John Sullins, Winifred Armstrong, James Grady, Byron Humphrey, and Patricia Dempsey.
