Ms. Francine Hawkins

Francine Lynn Hawkins was born on December 21, 1952 to the late Frank Hawkins and the late Sadie Mae Carroll in Cleveland Ohio. She was educated in the Cleveland Public School System where she earned a GED. Francine worked for several years at Bobbie Brooks in Cleveland. In 1986, Francine earned a Data Entry Degree from Harding Business College of Cleveland. Francine went on to work for the City of Cleveland Division of Motor Vehicle as Senior Clerk 29 years and was active in her local union until she retired. For several years until her illness, Francine was a devout practicing member and Sister in the Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy of the Church of God and Saints of Christ of Cleveland, OH. Francine was formerly married to the late Ronald Sutton of Cleveland, OH and they had a son Ronald Ellis Sutton of Las Vegas, Nevada. Francine was an intelligent, very strong, independent and caring woman who believed in family and God. She loved all of her family, especially her son and his family. She doted on them and they returned that love in kind. Francine had a quick wit and sense of humor. She was a gentle prankster who could make you laugh at yourself. Francine loved traveling, bingo, and learning about new things. She made others around her smile and laugh. Francine could display a fierce temper if she felt herself or a loved one had been treated unfairly. However at the core of her being, Francine was a loving generous soul who truly felt empathy for those around her. She dearly loved all of her extended family. Francine leaves to mourn her son, Ronald Ellis Sutton, daughter-in-law Antrese Dillard Sutton, and grandchildren Rashod Brown and Ronald Sutton Jr. Francine was the third oldest daughter in her family of seven siblings. She leaves to mourn four sisters: Dr. Beverly A. Gray of Youngstown, OH, Emily Owens, Faye Ford, and Wendy Hawkins Alexander, and two brothers Franchot Hawkins of Mesquite, TX, and Walter James Hawkins, nephew Vernard Adams, nieces Lesa Wilkerson, L’oreal Sylvertooth, Desiree Hawkins of Atlanta, GA, Skye Hawkins, Nicole Hawkins, Amber Hawkins, Shantay Hawkins and a host of cousins, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. After a long illness, Francine departed this life on March 21 in Las Vegas, NV.
