Donna Young Obituary Donna Jean Young was born November 7, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to the late Eugene Edward Brown and Doris Anita Gaskin. When Donna was young, her parents relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she attended John Adams High School and graduated in 1963. A couple of years later, Donna met Alexander Young and they were married in February 11, 1966. To their union, four children were born. Donna had a strong interest in fashion and was known for her impeccable style. She was an excellent seamstress and often made clothing for herself and her family. Donna had a beautiful singing voice and loved to dance. She also enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, black and white movies and doting on her cat Snowflake. Donna felt empathy for people and was a very patient listener. People were drawn to her because of that. Donna always wanted to be a mother and made special efforts to help give her children a happy life and make them feel loved. Her greatest act of love toward her children was teaching them about Jehovah and giving them a rich spiritual heritage. From an early age, Donna had an interest in spiritual things and would often ask questions about the identity of God. At nineteen months old, she could recite the Lord’s Prayer by heart. On March 3, 1974, Donna was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved sharing her faith with all who would listen. She shared her faith with her husband and experienced the joy of seeing him, and later her sister Mona join her in service to Jehovah. For a time in her life, she left the security of her family only to return and find that what she was seeking was right in front of her all along. This time, she held on tight and never let go, faithfully serving Jehovah for the rest of her life, sometimes with tears. We are comforted in knowing that Jehovah treasures Donna’s precious tears and longs to bring her back to life along with countless others who have fallen asleep in death. Over the years, Donna had many special friends, but the ones she treasured most were her children and her heavenly father Jehovah. Cherishing her memory are her children Dawn Jones (Keith); Lori Waugh (Herb); Armand Alexander; Maria Lee (Peter), and grandchildren Jovan Hester, Brandon Waugh (Gabrielle) and Brevin Waugh; a brother, Donald Seavers and sisters, Mona Harrison (Russell Sr.) and Patricia Brown (John Trollinger). Donna was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Brown and Diane Rene`. Also cherishing her memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends and over eight million brothers and sisters around the world.
