Brenda Tucker Obituary Brenda J. Tucker was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 24, 1948 to the late Milton and Lorene Williams. She was the third of five children. Brenda J. Tucker accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into her life at an early age. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Brenda attended Scott High School and graduated in 1966. In addition to excelling in academics, Brenda was nominated to the school’s Queens Court. After graduating high school, Brenda met Melvin G. Tucker, which would prove to be an inseparable union. In 1971 Brenda and Melvin wed and started their new life together in Cleveland, Ohio.To this union three children were born, Melvin G. Tucker II, Rhys M. Tucker, and Jordan J. Tucker. While Brenda possessed a natural artistic ability, she understood the importance of refining and developing her skills. As a young adult Brenda attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she effortlessly excelled. Always looking for a new challenge, she enrolled in Ursuline College to study Art Therapy . Brenda graduated in 2003 magna cum laude earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Brenda believed in pursuing her dreams and doing what she truly loved, which meant beautifying everything she touched. She shared her talents with a multitude of organizations, schools and establishments. Brenda was a member of the costume design team for the prestigious Karamu House Theatre and Hawken School’s Performing Arts Program, just to name a few. Whether it was making a prom dress for her niece, Erica, sewing stuffed Christmas bunnies for nieces and nephews or painting personalized sweatshirts for the older kids, she did it with love and to perfection. Brenda had an uncanny ability to express herself through colorful paintings, fashion and very direct, straight to the point conversation. Brenda leaves to cherish her memory a husband of 50 years, Melvin, three sons: Melvin (Jo-Ellyn), Rhys (Centria) and Jordan (Yahnese Griffin), five grandchildren: Joseph, Christian, Rhys Jr., Maddison, Grace, Sisters: Fayrene, Shirley, Brother: Steve, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
