Betty Seaborn Obituary Betty Jane Seaborn, 92 years of age, was called home Sunday, April 4, 2017 at home in the company of her family. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God ultimately gave her peace.Betty was born to Luther and M. Gertrude Reedus on December 6, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the fourth of nine children; five preceded her in death. Betty attended Cleveland Public Schools.Betty met Norwood Seaborn (deceased) the love of her life, her soulmate, in 1940, and on October 18, 1942 they were married. The union lasted 49 years until his passing. To this union, ten children were born, six of whom preceded her in death; Keith, Kenneth, Eric, Marc, Darrell and Wayne.Seeing her mother become a career woman in a time when it was unheard of, encouraged her to further her education, goals and a strong work ethic. With a passion to help others, she began her career volunteering as a candy striper. During this time, she was inspired to become a nurse and later attended St. Luke's school of nursing. She remained a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital until she retired in 1983.Betty also had a great love of music and the years she acquired an exquisite taste for her love of Jazz. Keeping herself busy, she had more time for other hobbies such as crocheting and family game nights, above all she loved entertaining her family.Betty leaves to cherish her memory sons, Mario and Craig (Rosland) Seaborn, daughters, Leslie (Terry) Jones and Kim Parks; sisters, Greta M. Pruitt, Barbara A. Young, Sherry F. Jackson; brothers-in-laws, James Scott and Warner Westbrook; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
