Wendy Wright-Carlton Obituary In the early morning of July 23, 2024, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunt, Wendy Sabrina Carlton peacefully passed away in her home with her family by her side. Wendy was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Wilbur S. Steward and Catherine Tarver on April 28, 1972. She lived in Cleveland most of her life. Wendy was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she met and married her husband LarVett Lamar Carlton. To this union, three beautiful children were born. Other children were also blessed to feel her “Motherly Love”, as she loved them as if they were her own. Wendy attended St. Adelbert and the Shaker Heights School District, moving on to successfully receive her GED. During her educational journey, Wendy also attended Case Western Reserve and earned college credits. She planned to return to school prior to the onset of her illness. Wendy’s employment history includes working as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), Providence House, and in 2009, she began her amazing career with Cleveland Housing Network’s HEAP Program. She was passionate about providing her clients with the necessary resources and assistance they needed to live a healthy life. Her hard work was the result of her advancement into the position of Administrative Assistant for Energy Services Cleveland Housing Network until she was no longer able to work due to her illness. Wendy’s unwavering love for her family and the deep devotion that she had for them is one of the many values that was instilled in her by her parents. She was known for her loving, nurturing, and compassionate attitude; always prioritizing the needs of her loved ones before her own. She never missed the opportunity to share her supreme happiness and excitement when able to spend time with loved ones. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them grow and sharing in their milestones. She instilled in them the importance of education. Special highlights with her grandbabies include teaching them how to cook, sing and dance (“performing” as she would call it) Her family brought her the greatest joy and delight. It can be said that Wendy’s family was her world. Many can bear witness that she went above and beyond to ensure they were always loved and cared for. Her motto when it came to her family was, “don’t mess with my parents, my brother, children, and grandchildren. Other passions of hers included entertaining guests by preparing lovely meals for any occasion, while enjoying the sounds of sweet music from her Alexa speaker. She could shop with the best of them! Sourcing unique finds and great buys for her home, gifts for others, and things for herself brought her joy. Wendy’s passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warm affectionate smile, kind spirit, and loving nature will truly be missed by her family and friends. However, her legacy of love, faith, and family values will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her faith gave her strength and consolation, especially during difficult times. She trusted God’s Will and knew He had a purpose for her. Her faith was a source of inspiration to those around. She was preceded in death by her father Wilbur Steward, step father William A. Tarver Jr., grandparents, and favorite Aunt Jackie.
