Thomas Mann Obituary MR. THOMAS L. MANN Mr. Thomas L. Mann was born November 28, 1935, in Ripley, Tennessee to L.D. & and Ora Lee Mann. He was a resident of Ripley until he moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1965, where he met Mary E. Mann, who became his beloved bride, wife, and confidant of 55 years. With that union he welcomed 3 children, Fennon Richard Henderson, Patricia L. Henderson-Elam and James Henderson. He is affectionately known as "Mr. T", "Pop", Poppa" and "Dad". On Monday morning, June 21, 2021, he transitioned home, to be with the Lord and no doubt seeing his beloved Mary and family members, who preceded him. (II Corinthians 5:8 - "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord",(KJV). Dad loved the Lord and recently *rededicated his life to the Lord! Truly a blessing!! Thomas, along with his wife, Mary, were faithful members of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church since 1975 where they joined under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Odie M. Hoover, and continued their services under Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. and presently Rev. Dr. Jawanza Karriem Colvin. Thomas was a quiet, kind, meek, and mild-mannered man, who expressed his love through his cooking, and he was not shy in engaging in a conversation with a perfect stranger. As his wife, Mary, was the whirlwind of the union, he was totally the opposite, yet there was a balance of them lovely complimenting each other. Thomas and Mary were retired travelers; traveling to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and the Bahamas. actually there are too many places to list. He retired, after faithfully working for 32 years for the well-known Fairchild Chevrolet Car Dealership as a Detailer and Mechanic.As boat owners and avid fishermen, they enthusiastically enjoyed fishing on the Great Lakes(Erie, Sandusky), Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, while every extending the invitation for family and friends to join them on their many fun-loving boating excursions. The Mann's were passionate, creative crafters. Their extensive schedule included attending craft shows, county fairs, and flea markets in which entailed their covering miles upon miles of American territory. They visited some of the most beautiful places in our nation spanning from the State of Washington, across the country, down to our southern borders. Our Dad leaves to cherish his memory, his last surviving Sister-in-Law, Frances Belk Allen; three children: Fennon Richard Henderson (Rita), Patricia L. Henderson-Elam, and James S. Henderson (Sheila). Five grandchildren: Tomeka D. Walker (Virgil), Fennon Henderson III, Spring Cambric, Tomesha D. Walker (Darnell), Devonte' Henderson and Andre' Henderson; seven great-grandchildren, along with a host of nephews and nieces. During this special time of celebrating of our loveone's home going, we the family and friends, honor him my saying, "We miss him" already and we are forever grateful for the living memories he's left, and a huge "thank you" and enormous gratitude for him taking such great care of our Mom, Mary E.
