Theodis Hawes Obituary Theodis Hawes SR, affectionately known as "Sambo or Sam" was born on April 22nd, 1936 to the late Cleophis and Susie Hawes in Tallassee, Alabama. Theodis was the eldest of 11 children. He received his former education in Tallassee where he completed up to 10th grade. Sam moved to Cleveland, OH in 1953 from Tallassee, where he gained employment as a supervisor at Craft Tint manufacturing company. He then moved his career to Bradley Metal Company where he was a shift supervisor over production, and then he started his own scraping business while he was a front loader and machine operator at Aluminum Waste Technology until retirement in 2000.Upon his moving to Cleveland, in 1958 Sam was blessed with the birth of twin boys Ronald and Donald Jenkins. On the 27th day of February 1960, he married the love of his life Juanita Terrell whom he shared 56 beautiful years with. From this blessed union Sam gained a step-son Charles Lamar and the birth of two son's Theodis Lee JR and Tyrone Ethan.In life, Sam loved to listen to his beloved gospel and blues music. He often, enjoyed beating the pants off of folks in Bid Whist (Bid Wiz) and SkipBo, as well as hunting. Sam also enjoyed all Cleveland sports and baseball in general. But he absolutely adored spending time with his family and friends, any and every chance he got. Theodis SR transitioned into eternal life on July 7, 2016 at 3:00 AM. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Cleophis and Susie Hawes; two sons Ronald and Donald Jenkins; three brothers Floyd Hawes, Bobby Hawes, Billy Joe Hawes and Robert Earl; Theodis SR leaves to mourn his transition; a devoted wife Juanita; three children, Theodis Lee JR (Yvette), Tyrone Ethan Hawes (Tamara), and Charles Terrell (Robin); four grandchildren, Travis Terrell of Chicago, Illinois, Ashley Thomas (Brian), Victoria Sandifer (Carl SR), little Ethan Lee Hawes; seven great-grandchildren, Sirayah, Camrynn, Alyissa, Chloe and Carl JR all of Cleveland, Ohio, Korrie Nicole, and Travis JR of Chicago, Illinois.
