Stephen Frazier Obituary Stephen Barry Frazier Obituary Stephen Barry Frazier was born on June 14, 1979 in Cleveland, where he attended public schools before moving to Richmond Heights. A graduate of Richmond Heights High School, Stephen was very much the GenX’er, developing a fond love for basketball while spending most weekends competing in video game battles with his brother and cousin. He had a warm, infectious smile and a demonstrative love for family and Cleveland sports. Stephen’s life was incomprehensibly and forever changed on October 1, 2006 when he ran a few errands for his granddad, following a Sunday afternoon Browns game. He was robbed at gunpoint by two strangers, and brutally beaten. This senseless act left Stephen with a broken neck and complete tetraplegia, a paralysis that results in immobility of the torso and lower body. But Stephen did not let the actions of these men change the person he was. He remained kind, generous, hard-working, and optimistic. His church and family gave him comfort and support. But he also discovered extraordinary strength within himself through his faith and prayer. Following myriad surgeries, and despite countless setbacks, Stephen graduated in the fall of 2017 with an associate degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix. And his generosity did not stop there. Stephen arranged that, upon his death, his organs and tissues would be donated – potentially giving sight to someone who has never seen a sunrise or kidneys to someone who otherwise would be dependent on a machine. With a grieving heart, we learned that Stephen was pronounced dead of cerebral hemorrhaging on October 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Hurley and Ruby Frazier. He is survived by immediate family members, Deborah, Linda and Noelle Frazier, Robert Gotel, and Madison Dutes. Stephen also leaves to cherish his memory fun-loving and always present members of the Lisaula family – Uncle Adrian “Pedro” (Frankie), cousins Anita and Antoinette, his Uncle Frank (Faye) and Aunt Barbara – as well as compassionate members of the Moorer family – cousins Bernard (Rosie) and Angie – and countless other family and friends.
