Shelton Richardson Jr. Obituary Shelton Theophilus Richardson Jr. (affectionately known as “Big Shelton”), 46, born on December 9, 1975, beloved husband of Efrossini Richardson (nee Tripodis), loving father of Shelton T. Richardson III and Ameliah Richardson, cherished son of Willinda Richardson and Shelton T. Richardson (deceased), loving brother of Alishia H. Richardson and caring father-figure to Jaishon Austin. Shelton was outgoing, high-spirited, and passionate about being an involved and loving father to his children. He was delighted by the birth of his daughter, Ameliah, four years ago and amassed volumes of pictures and videos of her singing, dancing, and playing with the family dogs. Shelton was hard working, but made time for fun and leisure. He enjoyed family vacations at Disneyworld resorts, Hilton Head, and Virginia Beach and frequently traveled with his son (affectionately known as “Little Shelton”) to Mobile, Alabama (his father’s hometown) to visit aunts, uncles, and cousins. He and Effie enjoyed hosting backyard barbecues for their large network of friends. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians and Browns and was very proud of the orange, brown, and white “man-cave” (the Browns’ colors) that he recently designed and decorated. Big Shelton always left you with a positive, encouraging and uplifting word at the end of his conversations, even if he was reaching out to you seeking advice and counsel. He cringed at the thought of potentially disappointing anyone. His physical presence, beautiful smile, laughter, and occasional display of quintessential conversational skills, depending upon the topic being discussed, will be missed immensely. Shelton graduated from Warrensville High School, and attended Cuyahoga Community College and the University of Phoenix, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business. Shelton began working for the City of Cleveland Water Department in 2001 where he received numerous awards for outstanding performance. He was recently promoted to the position of Water System Construction Inspector. Shelton is survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins and a multitude of friends. He is loved by many childhood friends from the Walford Road community. He loved them as well and together, they sustained a mutual trust, devotion, and bond that continues to this day. Some of these friends were introduced from the cradle. Shelton’s family and friends grieve his homegoing, but will always celebrate his life. Friends and family will be received at the E. F. Boyd Funeral home at 25900 Emery Rd, Warrensville Heights, OH on Tuesday December 28th 12PM-5PM. Because of the pandemic, funeral Services and burial will be private. Masks are required.
