Osborne Abrams Obituary Osborne Abrams was born on June 3, 1936 in Thomasville, NC. He was the youngest of four children born to Claude Willie and Frances Abrams who preceding him in death. In pursuit of a better life, Claude Abrams secured employment at The United States Steel and Wire Company in Cleveland, Ohio and moved the family to Cleveland. Osborne attended Kinsman Elementary School and Graduated from John Hay High School where he played the French Horn in the High School Marching Band. Osborne accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was blessed with a variety of jobs and gifts during his lifetime. He worked at Huron Road Hospital, The US Postal Service, Dillard’s Department Store and ultimately retired from Lee and Gibson Auto Parts Company as the night shift Quality Control Supervisor. Osborne also attended the Cooper School of Art and became an accomplished artist specializing in portraits. He enjoyed singing and joined Cory United Methodist Church and the Cory Men’s Chorus. An avid gardener, he was proud of his garden and always eager to share many of the vegetables and fruits he grew with family members and friends. He was blessed with two loving marriages. While recovering from a surgical procedure at Mt. Sinai Hospital he met Miss Charlotte Stone, a young nurse who worked there. They were united in marriage on September 23, 1967. They enjoyed taking many trips together in the USA and the Caribbean until Charlotte was stricken with breast cancer and passed away. While Osborne mourned Charlotte’s passing for several years, he was blessed to love again meeting Anita Graham at Cory United Methodist Church. He and fellow men’s chorus members were helping set up the Cory Concert Hall for a rehearsal of The Heritage Chorale of Cleveland of which Anita was a charter member. Anita was selling tickets for an upcoming event and approached Osborne asking if he would purchase a ticket. Osborne agreed to purchase a ticket only if she went with him! They were married on May 27, 2006 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church where Anita was a long time member. Osborne joined Aldersgate and The Heritage Chorale where they both sang for many years. They enjoyed traveling with the Chorale throughout the USA and abroad. Anita suffered with several medical problems and after a long stay at Montefiore Nursing facility, passed away on February 18, 2022. Many who knew Osborne considered him as a “good natured” man. He will be missed by all who knew him. Osborne is survived by his sister Claudia Lee Johnson, nephews Christoper Abrams (Carmen) and Jeffrey Johnson, sister-in-law Juanita Williams, niece Tanya Alvis (Lewis) and many other relatives and friends. We know he is now singing in Heaven with all the elders and angels, praising and worshiping God Almighty.
