Marian Coleman Obituary Marian Pauline (Walker) Coleman a loving sister, aunt and friend departed this earthly life to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Marian was born on April 3, 1942 in Nashville, TN. She was the 3rd of 8 children born to the union of William H. and Bertha M. Walker, and the oldest daughter. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; three brothers, Bennie G., William R., and James L. Walker; and two sisters, Octavia J. Williams and Gwendolyn Walker. She was educated in Nashville, TN Davidson County School System, graduating from Pearl High School with the Class of 1960. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Tennessee State University. She completed her graduate studies at Kent State University in Kent, OH and earned and Master’s Degrees in Business and Higher Education. She worked for 33 years as an educator; 6 years with Cleveland Public Schools and 27 years at Cuyahoga Community College. She retired in 1997. She was a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. for 61 years. She joined Shiloh Baptist Church in 1965 and actively participated in Christian education. She began teaching the Adult Sunday School class in 1982. She also served as the Director of Christian Education and actively participated in the Sick and Shut -In Ministry and the Ministry of Mercy. Marian wrote “The only thing I ever wanted to do in my life was to teach and for 40 plus years I enjoyed every day of it, but I truly was in my seventh heaven when the Lord led me into teaching and studying the Holy Scriptures. I learned to look at the lessons I taught in the Adult Church School as a labor of love. I cherished every minute of it because the opportunity to teach His word helped me tremendously in my growth in knowing how He wanted to be served” Marian leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, mourning their loss yet rejoicing her life sister, Patricia Walker (Detroit, MI) brother, Wayne Walker (Nashville, TN) and sister-in-law Evelyn Walker (Sanford, NC ). Nephews, Nicholas Walker (Sanford, NC), Ronald (Gerri) Walker (Nashville, TN), Marlon Walker (Nashville, TN) Michael (Lynn) Hollingsworth (Lebanon, TN), James R.
