Marian Lindsley Obituary Marian Elaine Sheats, affectionately known as Lindsley, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unconditional love, leaving an indelible legacy that will forever be cherished. Born on a beautiful Sunday, February 10, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, Marian was the second child of Marvin Sheats (deceased) and Jane B. Sheats. She shared a close and loving bond with her siblings, Debra Johnson and Lorna Sheats. Marian was a proud graduate of John Hay High School, Class of 1975, and pursued further education at Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College. Her passion for helping others led to a distinguished career in healthcare. She devoted 15 years to University Hospitals before serving as a bedside nurse at Cleveland Clinic for over 20 years, retiring in 2018. Her compassion and dedication left a profound impact on the countless patients and colleagues she worked with. Marian's greatest joy was her family. From her union with Robert Lindsley (now divorced), she became the loving mother of six children: Brandon, Shaina & Tolulope (Sulaimon), Crystal & Pete (Williams), Tamara, Alexia, and Cordell. She adored her grandchildren: Brea, Chase, Leo, Morolaoluwa, Anjolaoluwa, Zhenya, Zakai, Skye, and Daxton who brought endless pride and happiness to her life. She also cherished her only niece, Jamella Woods, along with grandniece and grandnephews: Alondra, Alyssa, Alondo, and Adonis. Her extended family of cousins, lifelong friends, and family friends, and those who lovingly called her "Ma," will also hold her memory dear. Marian was a beacon of strength and grace, even in the face of adversity. First diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, she courageously battled the disease through its recurrences, demonstrating unwavering perseverance and faith. Though the illness ultimately claimed her body, her spirit remains unbroken. Marian will be remembered for her boundless love, her radiant smile, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She was a devoted daughter, a nurturing mother, caring grandmother, a loving sister, and a loyal friend who inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family and friends will forever treasure the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
