Mae Few Obituary Mae Jackson Few was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 25, 1925, to the union of Wilmer Jackson, Sr. and Maggie Eva (nee Dickerson) Jackson. She was one of three children. Her brother, Wilmer (Ruth) Jackson, Jr. and sister, Marilyn Jean Butler, preceded her in death. Mae accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Reverend Longmire. Mae attended the Cleveland Public School system and graduated from John Hay High Schol in 1944. She attended Cuyahoga Community College to study Computer Programming. She became a licensed real estate agent, was a member of the Ohio Board of Realtors and worked part time as an agent for J. Howard Battle Realty. Mae worked full time for the Cleveland Board of Education. After 38 years with the Cleveland Board of Education, she retired in 1983. Mae and Harold Few were childhood friends and neighbors and became sweethearts. On October 25, 1944, Mae and Harold were married. To this union was born three daughters, Beverly, Delores and Carol. Mae and Harold worked hard but also believed in living life to the fullest. During their 57 years of marriage, Mae and Harold enjoyed socializing with family and friends and traveling. Mae and Harold always had a house full of friends, and their door was open to all. She was a member of two travel organizations, Club Continental International and The Blenheimer Club. She was also a member of the Women’s Postal Auxiliary. Mae loved fashion and jewelry and stayed abreast of the latest fashion trends in Paris with a subscription to W Magazine. She was passionate about her shoes! She was always impeccably dressed and smelled great due to a dab or two of perfume from her perfume collection. Mae made sure that Harold was also “GQ” with matching attire to her fashionista outfits. She was a mentor to many, her children, grandchildren, friends, family and co-workers, with her chic and stylish ways. Mae was fond of the color purple and often wore purple clothing and decorated with purple accents. Mae enjoyed dancing and listening to all types of music. She would often have her teenage daughters teach her the latest dances on Saturdays. When complimented on an outfit or apartment décor, she replied with a smile, “I’m glad you like it.” If a person thought she was younger than her actual age, Mae would say, “I am going to give you my next paycheck.” Mae was generous. She was always willing to love, help and nurture not only her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but she also loved and supported her nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was a beloved second mother to many. She loved, and she was loved. Mae’s incredible earthly journey ended on February 14, 2022. To cherish her beautiful and loving memory, she leaves her daughters, Beverly Few, Delores Jeter, and Carol (Charles Sr.) Boddy; grandchildren Charlotte Boddy, Carla Boddy (Bryan Moore), Jahnel (Richard) Bailey, Charles Boddy, Jr., and Jena Jeter; great grandchildren Angel (Charles) Peaks, Antonio Boddy, Aaron Boddy, Justin Lombard, Nina Moore and Hanna Moore; eight great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
