John S. (Jr.) Roe

John Roe Obituary John Stockton Rose, Jr., affectionately known as Johnny, was born August 12th, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio. John, Jr., was born to John Stockton Roe, Sr (Deceased) and Josephine M. Roe (Deceased). He was the third child and oldest son in the family. Siblings include Margaret C. Cortright, Catherine E. Kepick, and Claude E. Roe (Deceased). John graduated from Euclid High School and received his associate degree from Cleveland State University. He was a huge advocate for knowledge and encouraged his loved ones and friends to always continue learning. John was drafted into the Navy and served for 2 years during the Vietnam War. Sports were a major passion for John – playing them, watching them, talking about them – his morning routine often started with the sports page and talk radio. He also had a vast love for music, which he showed over the course of his life. John was a singer, a musician, and an audiophile; spending many days building speakers and stereo systems. He was in a band called the “In Betweens” and also a barbershop quartet. John had a rebel steak, which showed in his love for motorcycles and practical jokes. He appreciated comedy in all forms – sitcoms to stand-up – and loved to bring humor and light to any situation he could – his jovial disposition was often a comfort to those in his life. John had many jobs with his last and longest one being the United Stated Postal Services where he retired. He was also a craftsman and built the home that he lived in for over 25 years. John is survived by his devoted wife Mica. He had five children; Twain (Deceased), Gazelle, John III (Deceased), Marquel, and Delon; five grandchildren; Justin Dejanay, Dayah, Sierra, and Maxen. John had nieces and nephews; Janice, David, Susan (Deceased), Laura, and Mary who he loved very dearly and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him greatly, but have a fond memories of time spent with him. John brought love and light to everyone he met and will be remembered for his kindness and his love of family, Cleveland sports, and music of all kinds.
