Jesse Thompson Obituary On January 13, 1928, Jesse James Thompson, made his grand entry into the world, the second of three children to the late Lula May and Jesse James Thompson, in Nashville, Tennessee. He came to Cleveland, Oho in 1929. At an early age, Jesse accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior uniting with New Revelation Baptist Church. On the afternoon of March 10,2019, he went home to be with the Lord. Jesse attended Cleveland public schools and graduated from East Tech High School He attended Erma Lee Beauty School & Barber College where he received his Diploma in March of 1964. Upon graduation, he began his barbering career in the Glenville – Patrick Henry community where he served for many years. He worked for the City of Cleveland as an Air Pollution Inspector and retired from the Lyndhurst School System. Jesse enjoy people and keeping busy. After retiring, he worked at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Jesse served in the US Army, for 4 years in the 10th Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1952. Jesse was introduced to his soulmate and love of his life the late Daisy L. Thompson and married on December 22, 1951. To their union God blessed them with one daughter Crystal Marie. Jesse was a loving husband and father wanting only the best for his family. Jesse had an out- going personality and never met a stranger. He was a people person. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good story or joke to tell that had you laughing. When he was not making you laugh, you could find him on the golf course. If he was not playing golf, he was watching golf. He always had a putter in one hand and a golf ball in the other. He was a charter member of the Divots Golf Club. Jesse was also a Mason and a member of several social organizations. Jesse moved to McGregor Assisted Living in 2011 where he was very active. He enjoyed playing Bingo and Domino’s. He was known for his outgoing personality and driving his wheelchair like the “Road Runner.” Though gone but never forgotten, Jesse, leave to cherish his loving memories: one daughter Crystal Marie Jackson; Son-in-Law Andre Jackson; one sister Edna E. Nelson (Maurice); one sister proceeding in death Eleanor E.
