Mrs. Janice C. Cash

Janice C. Cash, 67 Beloved wife to Frederick M. Cash, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 12, 2016. She also leaves to mourn her passing two children, Frederick Cash, Jr of Cleveland, OH and Evelyn (Luis) Cash-Santos of Seattle, WA; one sister, Beverly Harrison of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Her beloved son, Jason Cash preceded her in death. Life Celebration Memorial Services on Friday, January 22nd at 11:000 am at New Community Bible Fellowship 3557 Washington Blvd. Wake will begin at 10:00 am. "In lieu of flowers, please share laughter, joy, and warm thoughts with all you come in contact just as Janice did." Janice was born November 7, 1948, daughter of the late Hayward and Bernice Morris in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Glenville High School as the valedictorian of her class, member of the National Honor Society, French Club. Janice met her love of life and soul mate, Frederick M. Cash, while playing in the marching band at Glenville High School. She received a National Achievement Scholarship as well as a National Merit Scholarship to attend college. She then attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Janice later obtained a Masters of Education in Supervision and Administration from Cleveland State University and completed all of the course work needed for a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University. Janice was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, and Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Truly blessed, she loved the Lord, attending church throughout her adult life. A member of New Community Bible Fellowship, she volunteered with several ministries including the Welcome Center and Christian Education Ministry where she taught bible study classes. Janice was an active senior who volunteered at Euclid Hospital, the American Heart/Stroke Association and the Hospice of Western Reserve after retirement. Janice loved reading and bowling and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching and attending Cavs games as well as the Cleveland Browns. She enjoyed traveling and had proudly visited most of the major cities in the U.S.; she especially enjoyed cruising each year with her “boo”, her husband Fred. A life-long educator, Janice worked as teacher for Cleveland Metropolitan Schools. She was an Advisor / Program Director for Veterans Upward Bound at Cuyahoga Community College and at Cleveland State University, served as Program Manager for CLASS and TRIO/Student Support Services, retention and mentoring programs, she also encouraged and served as a role model for hundreds of young men and women. She leaves to mourn and cherish her, her loving husband of 45 years, son Frederick Jr., daughter, Evelyn Cash-Santos (Luis); grandchildren, Sara Cash, F. Jace Cash, Elisa Rosalie Cash-Santos; sister, Beverly Harrison, numerous nieces and nephews
