Jacqueline Reed Obituary Jacqueline “Jackie” Reed-Green was born on August 20, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio to Dolores and Adel Richardson. She was the second oldest of seven siblings. Jackie passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022, with her husband Alvin by her side. Jackie grew up in church and was a long-time member of the Cleveland Church of Christ and continued attending church late in life as her illness allowed. Jackie grew up and attended school in Cleveland, Ohio, including John Hay High School. She was a lifelong learner who loved to read books of all kinds. Jackie spent her entire professional career in service to others as a medical assistant. She cared for others while on staff at Hillcrest Hospital, Huron Road Hospital and Euclid General. She was well known and liked for her sense of humor and making coworkers and patients feel special. Jackie’s kindness and selflessness extended beyond her work. Anyone who knew her knew that she would support family and friends in any way she could. This began early for Jackie as she cared for her six siblings growing up who remained very close through her life. Whether visiting someone in need, sharing what resources she had, or lifting spirits with her infectious smile and laugh, Jackie had a big heart. Jackie lit up and brightened any room she entered. She was a strong, loving, and free spirit who gave big hugs and kisses to family and friends, new or old, leaving behind her trademark red lipstick on your cheek. She was genuine and generous with compliments, not hesitating to let you know that you were “drop-dead gorgeous”. Jackie was a proud mother and grandmother who spoke about her children and grandchildren every chance she could. She and Al loved traveling near or far to visit family and friends in Virginia, Florida, Michigan, California and anywhere her spirit beckoned. Jackie loved bountifully and was a fierce fighter for those she loved. Her spirit will live on in the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her. Jackie was preceded in death by both parents Dolores Richardson and Adel Richardson. Jackie’s life will live on in the lives of her loving husband Alvin; her four children, Deon, Sr., Darren (Courtney), Danielle Joy (Rayshawn) and Dominique; two stepchildren, Deangela and Ashante; seven grandchildren: Deon, Jr., Aya, Evan, Ava, Jordan, Maddy and Amira; six siblings, Lamar, Anthony, Michael, Gary, Tammy and Angelia (Derek); one aunt Gladys, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
