Hasan Sharif Obituary Pastor Hasan Omar Sharif, 71, of Cleveland, Ohio passed this life from labor to reward into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Pastor Omar was born on September 26, 1948 to Jerry Austin and Louise Wells. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966. He served in the United State Marine Corp. and the United States Army where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart as well as several other medals and special commendations for his bravery and extraordinary service for his country. Pastor Omar and Rev. Jacqueline Satchell were joined in holy matrimony on May 7, 2004. Pastor Omar accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at the Fifth Street Church of God “City of Deliverance” under the pastorate of the late Pastor Artis L. Dorsey and Pastor Victoria Dorsey where he joyfully served as Deacon. God wonderfully blessed Pastor Omar and Co-Pastor Jacqueline Sharif as a team to serve in outreach ministries. He was diligent in his studies to show himself approved unto God “a workman that needed not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 In preparation for the ministry, Pastor Omar attended classes at the center for Theological Studies under the late Nobles C. Darby. Prior to his ordination, he was guided and mentored by the trusteed Godly wisdom of Pastor Abraham Jeter, Church of God of Cleveland. Pastor Omar received a divine call from God to minister the Word of God and was ordained October 2011. He was then later called to Eastside Church of God, Warren, Ohio in January 2013, due to health challenges faced by Emeritus Gayle Salters, founder. He led the church in community outreach. He faithfully served until the Lord called him to his eternal home. Pastor Omar loved and enjoyed exercising his culinary skills to perfection. He also looked forward to playing golf and fellowshipping with some of the clergy during the West Middlesex Church of God Camp meeting each year. Pastor Omar leaves to mourn his passing a loving and devoted wife, Co-Pastor, Jacqueline Sharif; five children: Hazim Sharif, Eliska Goins, Laveeda Monroe, Hakeem Sharif, and Kareem Sharif; stepsons, David Palmer and Rodney Fryerson; one brother-in-law, Emanuel Robinson; two sisters-in-law, Darlene N. Robinson and Rev. Marsha A. Satchell; seven grandchildren, Jasmin, Tani, Keia, Jaylan, Murice, Raheem and Admad and a host of other family and friends.
