Glosco Collins Obituary Glosco Collins was born on February 21, 1933 in Akron, Alabama. He was one of seventeen children born to the late Chris and Annie Collins, Sr. He graduated from Hale County Training School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953. He is a veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska and Fort Eustis where he remained until his honorable discharge in 1956. On July 3, 1957, he united in holy matrimony with the former Cora Terrell in Sawyerville, Alabama. They relocated to Cleveland, Ohio and were married for 66 years. From this union they had two children, Sharon Dorsey and Timothy T. Collins. He worked for the Forest City Foundery, Smeller Aluminum, Seaway Foods, and eventually worked for the City of North Randall. At an early age, he accepted Christ in his life while attending the family church, Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. All through his life he was a faithful servant. He was a member of Starlight Baptist Church where Reverend Small was the pastor prior to joining Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in 1984, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. George O. Stewart. He was a member of the Zion Chapel Usher Board, he served as a Deacon, regularly visited the sick and shut in, and attended Sunday School weekly. He never met a stranger, loved being around people, and his smile lit up a room. Those who knew him know how much he loved sports especially baseball and basketball. He was a coach for the Glenview Little League (CBF) system and won the city championship in 1977. A busy life came to a close on Saturday, February 10, 2024, when Deacon Glosco Collins was called to eternal rest. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, sibling, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Cora Collins; a daughter, Sharon (Kenneth) Dorsey; son, Timothy T. Collins; grandsons, Kenneth Jr., Kristopher, and Taz. One granddaughter, Chasite, and two great-granddaughters Khloe and Scarlett. One brother, Charles (Hattie) Collins, four sisters, Carlena Mosley, Annie Nell Melton, Rosie Nell (AD) Beckett, and Mary (Ike) Drummer, five sisters-in-law, Martha Collins, Willie Watson, Lucille Edwards, Delois (Troy) Bradford, Orvetta Bateman and Bernice Terrell plus, a host of other relatives and friends.
