Elizabeth ("Nancy") Tarver

Elizabeth Tarver Obituary Mrs. Elizabeth “Nancy” Tarver passed away peacefully and was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on May 24, 2024. She was born on March 10, 1929 in Birmingham, AL and was one of ten children to Eddie Williams Sr. and Essie Mae Williams. Elizabeth dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Birmingham. She was a devoted member and sister of Temple Baptist Church, and in most recent years, Mt. Gillion Baptist Church. She attended Pratt (Scott) Elementary School, Hooper City High School and then completed her studies at Parker High School. After school, she worked at the historic Tutwiler Hotel in Birmingham. She met and married her beloved husband, Theodore Tarver and raised two beautiful daughters: Linda B. Daniels and Theodora R. Gray. In March 1955, they left Alabama and moved to Cleveland, OH, where Elizabeth would continue her career in service. Theodore and Elizabeth were inseparable until Theodore’s untimely passing. To know her was to love her. Ever since adolescence, Elizabeth continuously fostered and nurtured meaningful relationships with her family, friends, and her community. What made her so special was her kindness and generosity towards others. She was passionate about the appearance of her yard, and she shared the love of her yard with her neighbors. Additionally, she enjoyed reading and sharing newspaper articles with friends and family. She was known for sending beautiful and thoughtful cards to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays and holidays. Elizabeth spent a lot of time speaking with her friends and family on the phone; however, the conversations were brief once her favorite tv shows Judge Judy and Wheel of Fortune came on. Elizabeth leaves those to cherish her memories: daughters- Linda B. Daniels, Theodora R. Gray; siblings- Freddie “Mack” Williams, Mary Francois, and Rose Peterson; grandchildren- Christopher Tarver (Kisha), and Isidore Gray; cousin- Tommie Byars.
