OBITUARY ELEANOR GLORY BROWN Don’t Cry Family and friends don’t cry and weep For I’m not dead, just asleep So please don’t mourn and don’t despair In the casket is my body, my soul is not there I know you will miss me, this I understand Just be assured I am safe in the arms of the Master’s Hand Eleanor Glory Brown was born in Tulare, California on November 9, 1953 to Arcmie Dillihunt and Zettie Coleman. She was the fifth of seven children. She was preceded in death by her father and four siblings, Charles, Elizie, Edward, and Diane Dillihunt. She attended Tulare City Schools and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1971. She continued her education at San Joaquin Valley College, Visalia, California. In 1979 she completed her training as a Dental Assistant. Eleanor was so proud of her accomplishments. She was quickly hired and worked with Joy and Phil Hayes in their family dental practice in Porterville, California from 1979-1988. Eleanor accepted Jesus Christ as Lord at an early age. Eleanor relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1991 where she met the love of her life, Joseph L. Brown, and attended church at Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ, Cleveland, Elder Anthony Coleman, Pastor. Eleanor and Joseph were married October 16, 2000. She was shy, smart, and friendly and enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. Eleanor was a home school teacher when her children were young. She often gathered the children in the neighborhood to help them with their homework as well as arts and crafts. She loved unconditionally, loved selflessly, and sacrificed greatly while raising and watching her grandchildren grow up. She was very active in their lives and their educations. She even taught them to drive. Eleanor was an encourager. She always had a kind word to say and a positive outlook on life. She was a volunteer and member of Salvation Army and Kinship-Fair Hill. She delighted in sewing during her spare time. Eleanor was called to rest on Friday, June 24, 2016. Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Joseph L. Brown, Cleveland Ohio; her mother, Arcmie Dillihunt, Tulare, California; one daughter, Kasey McDowell, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Dietrich Chiles, Sacramento, California. Her grandchildren: Tiera Goolsby-Brown, Gregory Willis, Semaj Edwards, and KeAnna White, Cleveland, Ohio; and Koron Brows, Daron Chiles, and Alaejay Chiles all of Sacramento, California. She is survived by two sisters, Sandra (Edward) Shannon and Linda (Chris) Wright, both of Tulare, California. She also leaves her stepchildren and stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
