Obituary for Cornelius Paul Gould III Cornelius Paul Gould III was tall with bright eyes, wry perspectives on the human experience, a robust humor and a noble nature. Neil was born August 15, 1947, in Bellevue, Pennsylvania. He was the first-born child of Cornelius Paul Gould, Jr. [a Tuskegee Airman] and Phyllis Berniece Washington Gould [an educator] both from Pittsburgh, PA. After a long illness, Neil died April 26, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. During his seventy-five years, Neil was first married to Yvonne Fields. They had one child, Cornelius Paul Gould IV and were blessed with one grandson, Benjamin Gould. His son Cornelius also brought to him a bonus granddaughter, Rowan Kramer. From February 2, 1995, until his death, Neil was married to Jacquelyn Ashby a union blessed with love, grace and kindness. Neil is survived by sister Cheryl Gould-Bailey [Jerry Bailey, Esq.], nephew Jelani Gould-Bailey [Alicia Gould-Bailey, Esq.] niece Camilah Gould-Bailey, Esq.; great nephew Ellison Gould-Bailey and great niece Avery Gould-Bailey; sister Deborah Gould, MD [Laurence Blackwell] and brother Eric Gould [Diana White-Gould]; aunt Anna Davis and uncle William Leach. Neil graduated from Shaker Heights High School in June 1965. After receiving an associate degree in engineering, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Cleveland State University in 1975. He was a Charter Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and 2020 Citizen of the Year for his work developing policy for the University Heights Citizens Committee on Policing. Neil was Founder and CEO of Terra Tu Technical Graphics and Media. During his career, he was a publisher, musician, writer, record producer and member of many accomplished bands. His path through life took many twists and turns. Once Neil piqued an interest in something, he educated himself about that subject and applied it to people, places and things that were important to him; one of which was using music as a tool to help children with substance abuse and behavior problems at Rap Art Center in Cleveland. Among Neil’s interests were a joy of flying, photography, and travel. He and Jackie were members of the Emerald Necklace MG Register and spent much time making their classic MG road ready. He was a maestro of BBQing on the grill. This kind and big-hearted gentleman loved taking care of his furry companion “Diki”, a Lhasa Apso. With all the different arenas in which he worked and played, Neil was a dedicated and devoted friend who had long term and significant relationships that lasted well beyond 50 years.
