Candace Jackson Obituary Mrs. Candace “Candy” Jackson, daughter of the late Donald Pinkney and Shirlee Pinkney was born April 13, 1959 in Cleveland, OH. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and later in life joined Our Lady of Peach Parish where she was a dedicated parishioner. She attended John Adams high school in Cleveland and was a graduate of Kent State University where she met many of her friends and continued lasting friendships. Shortly after graduating college Candace got a job offer to work for the United States Government, Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) and served them for over 30 years. Candace met and married the love of her life Duane Jackson (Nick) and to that union they created their special daughter Fallon Jackson. She was united in holy matrimony to her loving husband of thirty-nine years, four months, twenty -two days. The bond they carried was one of a kind. Her granddaughter Morgan often referred to her as “Sugar” because she was so sweet. Her love and admiration for her family was unparalleled. She instilled faith, integrity, education, dedication, and hard work to her family. She was the matriarch of her family and community. She would give you honest advice rather you liked the outcome or not all while making you her signature margarita and offering you a delicious meal plus desert. Her favorite line was “I am just keeping it real”. Candace was the middle child; she was the balance between her sisters. She had her unique bond with both Donna and Pier. She would do anything for them. She was the protector and listener. She loved and cherish her sisters. Her circle of friends is extraordinary and remarkable they always showed up and showed out as long as I could remember. Their relationship(s) is something that have been developed over decades. The loyalty they have is a blueprint of how friendship turned to sisterhood should be. If you couldn’t find Candace working or taking care of her family, it is because she was somewhere dipping her toes in the sand. She enjoyed traveling and would take several trips throughout the year. In preparation for her trips she would frequent her jazz exercise classes with ladies who became more than just “ladies at the gym” they grew a bond. She professed her faith to follow Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior months before being called home by the Lord on Sunday morning June 4th. As we remember, “The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God.” (Galatians 2:20). Her family was by her side every step of the way to her last days. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her devoted daughter Fallon and her partner Gavin, her loving grand-daughter Morgan. She is survived by her lovely mother Shirlee, her two caring sisters Donna and Pier. Her sister-n-law Sharon and her husband John (Butch) proceeded in death her sister-n-law Tonya. She cherished her nieces and nephews Dalanta, Hershell, Dalanda, and Onnie. She will also be missed by a host of great nephews, nieces and dear friends.
