Beatrice Smith Obituary Beatrice Smith “Cookie” was born to the union of the late James and Lula Smith on November 13, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio. Cookie accepted Christ at a very early age and later became a cherished member of Grace Church in Middleburg Heights. She derived her education from the Cleveland Public School System where she was an honor student and also belonged to the National Honor Society for the duration of her grade school and high school education. In later years, she achieved a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Cleveland State University, then went on to receive a masters and doctorate in education from the University of Phoenix. Cookie really enjoyed her profession. She retired as a Special Education teacher from the CMSD (Cleveland Metropolitan School District). She later went back to work as an elementary school teacher for the Cleveland Catholic Diocese where she was known as Ms. Smith. Cookie enjoyed watching television (Hallmark Christmas movies and Seinfeld), cooking, singing, dancing, writing calligraphy, traveling, (especially to see Jimmy and Penny) and making people laugh. She was the best cook and ultimate host! After a brief illness, Cookie answered a call, and on the line were two all too familiar voices of her older sisters; Irma “Renee” and Brenda who had the same call many years ago. “We need you to come home with us to rest peacefully and eternally to help watch over the family.” She leaves behind to cherish, one brother Jimmy Smith (Penny), one sister LaVerne Eutz, two children, Coty and Quincey Smith, six grandchildren: Quaron, Dakota, Logan, Landen, Lelah and Avery. One Aunt, Wilma, several nieces and nephews: Sharebah, Terrance, Damone, Kenya, Joyus, Kellee, Sharmayne, Kiela, Patience, Aja and Travis, great nieces and nephews that she loved and adored, and a host of family and friends. You were known to some as Mother, Sister, Cookie, Auntie, Ms. Smith, Beatrice, Cousin, Niece and everyone had one thing in common, we loved you but we all wanted you to rest peacefully, its your turn now so fly high!
