Anna Bilal Obituary Sister Anna M. Bilal was born August 28, 1928, to proud parents Reverend Samuel W. Pratt and his loving wife Myrtle (Gordon) of Calhoun, Mississippi. Anna was the thirteenth of fourteen children. She had a big family. There were seven boys and seven girls. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; sisters Ethel Griffin, Lora Williams, Matilda Jackson, Mary B. Farmer, and Willie B. Pratt; brothers Grover, Sam, Henry, James, Joseph, Albert and Tillmon Pratt. As an adult, Anna relocated from Calhoun, Mississippi to live with one of her sisters in St Louis, MO. It was upon a visit to her sister Willie B. Pratt of Cleveland, OH, that she met Allen (Bruce) Bilal, on the way home from church. Anna returned to St. Louis, MO but remained in contact with Allen. After an endearing courtship Anna said yes to Allen’s proposal and they were joined in Holy Matrimony in the year of 1961. They resided in the city of Cleveland, OH and were married for fifty-eight years. Anna accepted Christ at an early age. She Joined New Light Baptist Church of Cleveland, OH under the leadership of the late Pastor V.J. Weathersby (currently pastored by R. W Sales). A faithful and dedicated member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church; Anna was an active member of the Nurse’s Ministry Board until her health started to decline. Anna worked as an LPN nurse for twenty-eight years at Hawthorne State Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her loving husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Anna transitioned to life everlasting, in heavenly peace, with the Lord our God, on December 16, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory husband Allen (Bruce) Bilal; sister Lorene Taylor (Cleveland, OH); sons Joseph Taylor and David Bilal; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Idella Herndon, Bernice Jones and Daisy (Alvin) McDaniels and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
