Angela Forte-Burnside Obituary Angela Marie Bowen was born on May 7, 1962 to loving parents Helen and Harold Bowen in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the third daughter born to that union. In the years that followed another sister and two brothers were born and needles to say she had enough siblings to enjoy a vivacious childhood. Angela was a graduate of John Adams Senior High Class of 1980. Graduating high school was a major feat for her as she had been critically injured when hit by a car on April 22, 1976. The doctors had determined she would never walk again. Many prayers were answered by God and Angela recovered. Reference to that date was dreadful until she was absolutely elated when her sister, Cheryl gave birth to 2 sons on April 22, 1993 and 1997. She realized only God could change her worst day into a great day and she was gently reminded of God’s grace and mercy each year as the birthdays were celebrated. Angela accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church. She lent her angelic vocal talents as a high soprano to both the choir and her sibling singing group, “The Angeletts”. Angela had a way with children that was phenomenal. It is believed that perhaps babies and children identified with her soft, soothing, baby sounding voice. She was the designated babysitter for all of her sister’s and brother’s children and other family members and friends. Anyone that knew Angie also knew she loved her mom. In fact, she was definitely a mama’s girl. They were prayer partners and started each day on the phone with prayer. Neither Angie or her mom grew tired or ran out of things to talk about during the many more phone conversations that followed the opening prayer in the course of a day. Angie was united with the love of her life and constant companion, Gino Burnside for over 33 years. The two of them shared many beautiful moments and lived, loved and laughed together. Gino faithfully remained at her side until God called her home on August 22, 2020. Angela leaves to mourn her lost and cherish her memories loving husband, Gino Burnside; son Antwan Forte’; mother Helen Floyd; sisters Cheryl Maupin and Marsha Evans (Keith); brothers Keith Bowen and Terrence Bowen (Linda); five grandchildren; and a very special uncle, Charles Pugh; and a host of other relatives and friends. One sister Carmen Bowen Miller, and fathers Harold Bowen and JD Floyd preceded her in death.
