Alice Booth

Alice Joyce George Booth affectionately known as "Sissy" was born on August 31, 1947 to William George and Mary Watkins George in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the younger sister to Allen George and older sister to the late Valeria George Sharif. She quietly slipped away from us on Sunday, September 11, 2011 while in Euclid Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Alice attended the Cleveland Public School system and was a graduate of East Technical High School in 1965, entering the work force as a Civil Service employee for the Federal Government, met and married her loving husband of forty-four years, Charles J Booth. This union brought and was blessed with six loving sons: Dedrick (Rosezina), Edward, Brian, Shawn, George Sr. (Teresa) and Alexander; expanding her role as devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. After raising her family and watching it grow, Alice returned to the workforce as a Customer Service Supervisor for J. C. Penney's Department Stores. This opened up a whole new world of friendships for her; while giving her a new delight to be able to inform family and friends of the reasonably priced items she thought they would enjoy for themselves or share as special birthdays, holiday gifts for others. Alice continued to work and share with family and friends until illness no longer permitted. Alice an already highly introverted personality, became more so with the passing of her sister, Valeria; but took comfort in reading the many uplifting cards and encouraging conversations with her sister-in-law, Allison Johnson of Brooklyn, New York. The challenge left us by Alice as she has gone on to a happier place to be reunited with her parents, siblings, nephew Aubrey and other cherished family and friends, is this: "Learn to freely give your love to one another; to bond as a family, creating a force that can stand and be strong no matter what the storm. Left to remember, cherish and celebrate the life of Alice Joyce Booth are: her husband; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother; sister-in-law; brother-in-law; ten nieces; six nephews; and a host of other cousins and friends. AS I LAY RESTING, HEARD A VOICE CALLING MY NAME TRIED TO LET YOU KNOW, "I GOTTA GO" STOOD AT THE BASE OF THE BRIDGE LOOKED CLEAR TO THE OTHER SIDE REFLECTING ON MY JOURNEY HEARD A VOICE CALLING MY NAME HURRY NOW "I GOTTA GO" I SEE YOUR TEAR STAINED FACES WATCH AS YOU EMBRACE YOUR HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH SADNESS AS I HAVE LEFT YOU IN THIS PLACE I HEARD THE VOICE A CALLING IT WHISPERED, ALICE DEAR WITH OUTSTRETCHED HANDS THAT DRAW ME THEY DRAW ME EVER NEAR I AM WALKING ACROSS THIS BRIDGE GOING TO THE OTHER SIDE YOU WILL NEVER BE ALONE FOR MY ARMS ARE OPENED WIDE HURRY NOW, I BEG OF YOU DON'T YOU HEAR MY PLEA?
